Rund 200 Mio. Euro Umsatz macht die “Halloween-Industrie” mit Kostümen, Lebensmitteln und anderen Accessoires für die Kürbis-Fete
Halloween ist inzwischen zu einem Event geworden, dessen Umsatz für viele Branchen nach Weihnachten und Ostern bereits auf dem dritten Platz in Deutschland liegt, so die Fachgruppe Karneval im Deutschen Verband der Spielwaren-Industrie (DVSI). Allein die Hersteller von Kostümen, Masken, Hüten sowie sonstigen Accessoires, haben im Bereich Halloween 2010 rund 30 Mio. Euro über die Ladentheke umgesetzt, eine leichte Steigerung gegenüber 2009 von 1,2 Prozent. Im Detail stehen dahinter hohe Stückzahlen, die den Halloween-Kult verdeutlichen: 350.000 Erwachsenen-Kostüme, 290.000 Kinder-Kostüme, 100.000 Perücken, 255.000 Hüte, 900.000 Schminksets und rund 3 Mio. Accessoires. Inzwischen hat Halloween einen festen Platz im deutschen Fest- und Partykalender. Punktgenau auf den 31. Oktober terminiert, reicht dieser Tag bei weitem nicht mehr aus. Für breite Bevölkerungskreise beginnt Halloween spätestens Anfang Oktober und endet erst mit Beginn des Karnevals am 11. November.
